Get To Know Us!
Now, with over 18 years in the business, we provide quality
service conducting all types of Auctions including on location.
Antique, Estate and Consignment selling seems to be the highest
interest area.
Founded in the fall of 1989 our
business was built from the ground up, no one in our family had
ever worked for an auction firm before. Top notch service and
using people right, was our way, and the way of the 90's. After
four short years of doing it right, business became so busy that
we were forced to leave our full time jobs, and we've never
looked back! Amazed at how willing our first customers were at
offering their input and constructive criticism, it seemed like
they all wanted us to succeed, the rest became history.
Prior to CLARKSON AUCTIONS, the
founder Tom Clarkson, spent many years in the automotive
industry as an Interprovincial licensed auto mechanic. Also,
much time was spent in the truck transportation industry,
training truck and bus drivers and obtaining the highest passing
rate in the city of Toronto with his students.
Mrs. C. (Tom's wife,
Linda); plays an important role in company business, her many
years of financial institution employment has proved highly
beneficial for the family based business. Control of data input
and financial operations during the auction sales is her area of
expertise.
Oldest son,
Andrew has
always had a keen interest in the business. This was first
noticed when I returned from auction school. He wanted
to know about all of the things I had done that week I was away.
Then, before we knew it, one day when we had company, we heard
him auctioning off his toys in the sandbox to all his friends.
He was only three years old then, and this immediate competition
was almost scary! Anyways, at the age of twelve he created our
web page, and soon became our company webmaster. Andrew, at the
age of 15 decided to try his hand at the auction lingo and has
been one of my main backup auctioneers ever since.
Micheal
and Emily really enjoy helping in every way that they can. Michael
graduated from high school in September 2007 and has been
experimenting with other fields of employment during his first
year of not "hitting the books". And as all of you "regulars"
know... Emily at the young age of 14 tried out the auction lingo
and instantly enjoyed this ability to perform well at this new
level. As parents, it has been so amazing and
rewarding to watch our children grow up with this business,
each of them have shown such an ongoing interest in it. Guess
we've done something right ???
Earl, who has been
with us since nearly the beginning, seems to really enjoy his
retirement and always make himself available for this part time
position.
And Sandra who is our number one clerk, she absolutely amazes us at how she
keeps everything going just the right way.
Now
George and
Theresa run the greatest lunch counter in town and have for the
past 10 years. If you would like them to cater an event for you
one day, just ask them when you're at one of the sales. |
